Welcome to Feeble Foodie!

Welcome to Feeble Foodie! There are a few inalienable truths about me that will help you understand the motivation for this blog. First, I’ve used an electric wheelchair to get around for the last 26 years. I have a neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which makes me…well, feeble! Second, I love spending time with my husband. We’ve been together for eight years, married for two. Third, I love to eat out. My love for eating out is born from necessity and craving. Due to my progressed muscle weakness cooking is not an option for me, thus the eating out becomes essential. The second and third truths I mentioned work well together since my hubby also enjoys dining out at our favorite haunts as well as trying new ventures. The first truth can make things a little challenging at times. As a result the idea of this blog came about. Why not combine the love of eating out and enjoying each other’s company while at the same time exploring the accessibility of eateries and possibly help others with mobility challenges choose a great restaurant.

We aren’t overly fancy or picky, so you’ll find reviews for restaurants with a variety of price ranges and cuisines. While most will be located in Arizona, a few others will sneak in there from time to time as our adventures take us to other states.

Each review will focus on three topics and use a five star rating system.

1. Food: Taste, appearance, presentation…all the things that are important for a good dining experience.

2. Service: Quality of wait staff is a huge part of enjoying eating out. For a person with mobility issues a helpful waiter/waitress can make a huge difference on the overall dining experience.

3. Accessibility: While I realize everyone’s accessibility needs are different, I will focus on parking, entrance to the restaurant, tables, and overall maneuverability.

Reviews will also include the basic information about a restaurant; location, price range, cuisine, hours, etc. I’ll borrow my husband’s photography expertise every now and then for photos too!

Please enjoy the blog, I hope it leaves you with hunger pangs and a new restaurant to enjoy with your loved ones!
